Domaine de Gavelier - a French family run holiday park

Within the Domaine there are all the facilities that you will need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxed. These include:

•  Large swimming pool with Jacuzzi section in the shallow end
•  Restaurant and bar with terrace overlooking the pool
•  Free use of tennis courts, table tennis, gym equipment, volleyball,
•  boules areas, football pitch, fishing in the river (no permit required),
•  pool table and electronic games
•  TV in the bar
•  Laundrette, with 2 washing machines taking tokens, undercover
•  washing lines behind, while each mobile home also has its own
•  private whirly washing line
•  Telephone kiosk

Local facilities

Shops
There are several local supermarkets including Cocinelle, Super U, Casino and Geant Casino and Leclerc all within easy driving distance. The bar sells bread and croissants when it's open every morning.

Post Office
There is a small post box within the park, and a franking machine for sending postcards. Alternatively, the post office at Capitou is open each morning or you can use the main Post Office in Mandelieu centre.

Local sports and recreation

•  Safe, sandy beaches stretch from La Napoule to Cannes with free
•  parking alongside.The majority are free of charge. Lifeguards patrol
•  the beaches during July and August.
•  Jet skies, wind and kite surfers, sailing boats, catamarans, banana
•  rides and parascendingare all available on the main beaches
•  between La Napoule and Cannes La Bocca.
•  The local area has 2 large water parks open from the end of May
•  until September:
•  - Aquatica in Frejus
•  - Aquasplash in Antibes/Marineland complex.
•  Marineland complex near Antibes with killer whale and dolphin
•  shows, plus crazy golf etc;more information on www.marineland.fr.

There are many superb golf courses on the Côte d’Azur. The closest to us are:

Cannes-Mandelieu - 9 and 18 hole course. This is the oldest course in the Alpes Maritimes, created in 1891 and is set against a backdrop of century old pine trees and faces the beach.

Riviera Golf Club - 18 hole course which, with water hazards is more difficult, was created by Robert Trent Jones Senior in 1991.

Cannes-Mougins - 18 hole course, which winds its way between two forests. It is split by a river and several water hazards and holds an international reputation.

Saint-Donat - 9 and 18 hole course accommodating all levels of play.

If it's a days adventure and action you are looking for, try a trip to the Canyon Forest at Villeneuve Loubet called 'Parcours Aventure', with canyoning (absailing in waterfalls) and forest walking (high wire walking). For more information go to www.canyonforest.com.

Drive up to the spectacular Gorge du Verdon (Grand Canyon of Verdon) which is reported to be the greenest canyon in the world. Walk, hire a pedalo or canoe and explore the interior, or even bungee jump from the Pont de L Artuby at 182 meters high, one of the many bridges which span the gorge:
